PETER BALDWIN
Managing Director
Peter has over 20 years of Asian experience working with corporate clients on market assessment and developing marketing and market entry strategies in Asia. Before joining Intercedent, for seven years Peter worked as Director of Consulting & Research, Southeast Asia for the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU). Prior to that, he worked with Lloyds Bank International for in its Far East Division (City of London). The author of several business books, he has a Master of Economics from the University of New England, in Australia.

ROSS O'BRIEN
Managing Director, Intercedent Hong Kong
Ross has been an analyst, consultant, writer and speaker in Asia for over 15 years, the past eight in Hong Kong. Ross previously led Pyramid Research in Asia and was with the management consulting practice of AT&T Solutions in the US and Indonesia. Ross writes numerous technology development and policy reports and regularly appears on CNN and CNBC Asia. He speaks Mandarin and Indonesian, has an UG degree from Dartmouth College and an MBA from the Haas School of Business, UC Berkeley.
JOHN GRUETZNER
Director
Based in Beijing for more than 20 years, John has excellent high-level business and government relations. He specialises in the development and implementation of China business strategies; projects encompass market assessment, government liaison, business development, technology transfer and opportunity identification. Before joining Intercedent, John managed the Canada-China Trade Council. Fluent in Mandarin, John is a graduate in Political Science (Univ. of Toronto) and has attended the University of Nankai.
RICHARD MARTIN
Director
Richard has over 20 years of experience in analysis, research, publishing and consulting in the Asia Pacific. He was the EIU's Director for Southeast Asia and was also Director of Asia Pacific Consulting & Research based in Hong Kong. Richard presents the regional outlook and the implications for corporate strategy to boards and at numerous forums each year and is editor of the Asia Pacific Executive Brief. Richard holds a degree in Politics from Sydney University and a Master Degree in Asian Studies from London University (LSE and SOAS).
SANJOY CHOWDHURY
Director
Based in Delhi, Sanjoy was most recently with the Industrial Finance Corporation of India Ltd (IFCI). He was Managing Director, Fraser-AMMB Research in Singapore (1997-98); First VP/Chief Economist – Asia with Merrill Lynch (1986-96); Director, Forecasting Services, Business International Asia/Pacific based in Hong Kong (1983-86); Staff Writer with Tata Economic Consultancy Services and co-authored a Business International publication on India: Limited Avenues to an Unlimited Market". Sanjoy has an MA in Economics from Delhi School of Economics and BA (Honors) in Economics from St Stephen's College in Delhi.

PC had six years of strategy consulting with A.T. Kearney, Deloitte Consulting and Accenture. He has worked in SE Asia and Middle East. His consulting focus areas included business plans and feasibility studies, growth strategies, diagnostic studies and turnaround and distribution strategies. PC also has nine years of experience as a market researcher and consultant with the EIU, Middle East Research and Consultancy and Pacific Rim Consulting. PC has a Master's from the Delhi School of Economics and an MBA from INSEAD.
CHRIS NAILER
Associate Consultant
Chris is a Senior Lecturer in the College of Business and Economics, at the Australian National University (ANU), Canberra. He specialises in international/Asia Pacific management and strategy, and contributes to the Asian Issues Management Papers. Chris is an experienced consultant, advisor and commentator on Asia; and was Director of Advisory Services and Regional Economist with the EIU (1997-2002). Chris has a Masters in Asian Studies from the University of Melbourne and an MBA from UNSW, Australia.
CLAIRE JOHNSTON
Associate Director
Claire has been with Intercedent since 1997. Previously, Marketing Manager for Global International in Jakarta, her responsibilities included market research and analysis. During this nine year period in Indonesia Claire established a network of valuable contacts in the Oil & Gas industry, among others. More recently, Claire was the GM for a leading business software developer, based in Italy. A qualified Professional Proof-reader and Copy Editor, she has authored 16 text books, published by Wayland Publishers (UK).
RANJAN PAL
Associate Consultant
Ranjan has an extensive background in managing education start-ups and marketing high profile educational institutions. He was Executive Director of the Indian School of Business (ISB) in Hyderabad. Ranjan headed the India Product Group at SG Securities in Mumbai and was Chief Regional Economist for Jardine Fleming in Hong Kong. He also worked at the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) as Director of the Country Analysis and Forecasting Unit and was with Wharton (WEFA). Ranjan has a Master of Public Affairs degree from Princeton.
